What is a Certified Translation?

A certified translation is a translation of a document that has been accompanied by a signed statement from the translation company certifying that the translation is an accurate and complete rendering of the original document.

Certified translations are typically required for legal document translation, academic translation, and official purposes, such as in court proceedings, immigration applications, immigration documents, academic transcripts, and medical records & medical documents. They may also be required for business documents translations, such as contracts and financial statements.

What is a Notarized Translation?

A notarized translation is a type of certified translation that has been authenticated by a notary public. A notary public is a public official who is authorized to verify the authenticity of legal documents and administer oaths.

In a notarized translation, the translation company provides a signed and certified translation of the document, and then the notary public verifies the authenticity of the signature and stamp.

Notarized translations are often required for legal documents, such as contracts, wills, and power of attorney documents, marriage/wedding certificates as well as for academic and immigration purposes. Notarized translations provide an extra layer of authentication, as they are considered to be more trustworthy and reliable translations than standard certified translations.

What is a Free Quote request?

A free quote request is a formal inquiry made to a translation company to obtain an estimated cost for translation services. It is a common practice for clients to request a free quote before committing to a translation project.

To request a free quote, the client typically provides information about the document(s) to be translated, such as the language, subject matter, and deadline for completion. Based on this information, the translation company will provide an estimated cost for the project.

A free quote request does not obligate the client to hire the translation company or individual translator or to proceed with the project. It simply provides the client with an estimated cost for the project, which can help them to make an informed decision about whether to proceed with the translation.

What is our turnaround time?

Our standard turnaround time is 24 hours. However, turnaround times for translation services can vary depending on the complexity and length of the document, the language pair, and other such factors.

Here are some general guidelines for turnaround times:

  1. Standard turnaround time: For a typical document of up to 1500 words, the standard turnaround time is usually 1-2 business days.
  2. Expedited turnaround time: For urgent translation needs, we offer an expedited turnaround time at an additional cost under:
    • Rush Service – Delivered in 12 hours (a maximum of 6 pages accepted)
    • Super Rush Service – Delivered in 6 hours (a maximum of 3 pages accepted)

It's important to note that these turnaround times are guidelines and can vary depending on the specific requirements of the project. Clients should communicate their deadline needs with us at support@canyontranslation.com to ensure that the project can be completed within the required timeframe. Additionally, clients should allow time for editing, proofreading, and any necessary revisions to ensure the highest quality of the final product.

How do we protect Confidentiality of your documents?

We take confidentiality very seriously and have measures in place to protect the privacy and confidentiality of your documents. These measures help to ensure that your documents are kept confidential and secure throughout the translation process.

Some of the measures include:

  1. Confidentiality agreements: We make sure all our translation professionals have signed confidentiality agreements with us before beginning work on a project. This agreement specifies the terms and conditions of confidentiality and outlines the consequences for breaching confidentiality.
  2. Secure file transfer: We secure all the information on our website using a 256-bit SSL encryption which is the industry standard for secure communication.
  3. Data protection measures: We have measures in place such as firewalls, anti-virus software to protect our computer systems and networks from unauthorized access.
  4. Limited access: We have limited access to documents to only those employees who have a need to know. We use password-protected systems to ensure that only authorized personnel can access the documents.
  5. Secure document storage: We store documents on secure servers which is only accessible to authorized personnel. Upon delivery of work, these documents are securely deleted from our servers. This also ensures that our server remains organized and efficient.

How does our translation process work?

Once you’ve placed an order with us, we follow a 6-Steps standard process to maintain the quality of our work:

  1. Project evaluation: We evaluate the project requirements, including language pair, subject matter, word count, deadlines, and any formatting or layout requirements.
  2. Project preparation: Our specialized team prepares the project, including selecting the appropriate translators and setting up a project execution and delivery plan.
  3. Translation: Our translators work on the translation, ensuring that the translation is accurate and meets your requirements.
  4. Editing and proofreading: Your translation is reviewed by an editor and proofreader to ensure that it is error-free and meets our quality standards.
  5. Quality assurance: Our Quality Control team performs a final quality check to ensure that the translation meets your requirements.
  6. Delivery: The translated document is delivered to you in the requested format and within the agreed-upon deadline.

Some translation projects may involve additional steps, such as client review and approval, formatting and layout.

Refunds

Cancellation: If you wish to cancel the project before work has begun or before the translation has been delivered, we offer a partial refund based on the work that has been completed.

Additionally, should you have any issues or concerns, please communicate to us at support@canyontranslation.com as soon as possible to ensure that any concerns can be resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Shipping Refunds

We use USPS/FedEx carriers for standard/overnight mailing services and since they are a third party, we do not offer refunds for issues related to their handling of your shipment. We provide a tracking number using which you may contact the carrier directly.

Notary Refunds

Our notary is done in the state of New Jersey. We do not offer refunds once the notary is done.

Payments

Payment can be made via all major Credit/Debit cards at order checkout, prior to work commencement.

Pricing

Our price per page (280 words) costs $20. Any excess of 280 words on a page will be considered a second page (charged at additional $20).
